How does the Repaint AI work?

Last updated September 28, 2026

You use Repaint by chatting with its AI in plain language. It does the work for you, whether that's editing a page or looking up an order.

Your workspace holds everything your business runs on in Repaint. That includes your website, customer accounts, orders, payments, and the emails you send. The AI can see and work with everything in it.

Chats belong to the workspace rather than to one website. In a single conversation, you could ask how many orders came in this week, refund a customer, and then update a product page.

What the AI can do

  • Build and edit websites. It can make any change to your sites, whether it's a small text edit or a full redesign.
  • Build features. It can add things like online stores, booking systems, and custom tools to your site.
  • Manage your data. It can look up orders, update inventory, issue refunds, and answer questions about your data.
  • Build dashboards. It can create custom dashboards for you and your team to manage your business.
  • Contact support for you. If something isn't working, the AI can contact Repaint support on your behalf.

Example prompts

“Make the hero section on the homepage shorter and add our phone number to the header.”

“How many bookings do we have next week, and which days are busiest?”

“Build a dashboard where my team can see new orders and mark them as shipped.”

One thing to know is that your data is always live. Your website changes stay private until you publish, but data works differently. Form submissions, orders, customer accounts, payments, and emails are real the moment they happen. There's no draft copy of your data.

Because of that, the AI treats anything involving data, payments, or emails with extra care. When you build something that touches real customers, like a new checkout, you can ask the AI to help you test it first.

Usage and team access

Everything you ask the AI counts toward your workspace's weekly AI allowance, including simple questions. The allowance is shared by everyone in the workspace and resets every week. See how usage limits and credits work.

Sharing with your team

Anyone you invite to your workspace can use the AI, so they can see and change all your sites, data, and dashboards through it. There aren't finer permissions today, so it's best to invite only people you trust. See what a workspace is and how to invite people.
