What is Repaint?
Repaint is an AI website builder that rebuilds existing websites. It can visit your old site, scrape the content, analyze the brand design, and generate a new site in minutes.
Repaint lets you use natural language to plan, generate, and edit your website. The experience is closer to ChatGPT than a traditional website builder like Wix or Squarespace. But unlike ChatGPT, it's an end-to-end platform for building marketing websites.
How to get started
Repaint runs entirely in your browser. To create your first site:
- Sign up for a free account at repaint.com.
- Paste your old website URL, or enter a prompt describing what you want.
- Chat with Repaint to generate, edit, and publish your site.
How Repaint builds your website
Repaint interviews you and builds a custom site based on your instructions. It can clone the original, redesign it, or anything in between.
You can start from a live website, screenshots, images, PDFs, a prompt, or any combination of references. You can learn more about importing here.
Repaint generates a brand new website, hosted on Repaint with its own pages, design, and web address. Your existing site keeps running separately until you're ready to launch. Then you point your domain at the new one and shut the old one down.
Editing your site
You can edit anything by chatting with the AI in natural language: changing colors, rewriting copy, adding pages, swapping images, redesigning sections. Or you can manually edit elements like text and images. See how to edit your site for the full breakdown.
Publishing your site
Repaint is also a website hosting service, so you can publish your site directly from the editor with no separate hosting setup. Every Repaint site comes with a free sites.repaint.com subdomain. With premium Repaint plans, you can connect a custom domain you already own. See publishing, customizing your subdomain, and connecting a custom domain.
