How to edit your site

You edit a Repaint site mostly by chatting with AI. You describe a change in plain language and the AI makes it, whether it's a typo fix or a full redesign. For quick text changes, you can also edit words directly on the page.
Editing with AI
When your site is open, you can ask the AI to change anything on it. You describe what you want in plain language, and the AI makes the change. Your preview updates as soon as it's done.
If the result isn't quite right, you can tell the AI what's off and it will try again. Being specific about what you see and what you want instead usually gets you there fastest.

“Redesign the whole site in a minimal black-and-white style.”
There are also guides for adding images, videos, and files and generating and editing images.
Adding and managing pages
Pages work the same way. You can ask the AI to add a new page, rename one, change the order in your menu, or remove a page you no longer need. It updates your navigation to match.

Showing the AI what you mean
At the bottom of your website preview there's a small floating panel with a camera button. Clicking it adds a screenshot to your next chat message, so the AI sees exactly what you see.
This is handy when something is hard to describe, like a button that's out of place. You can take the screenshot, then say what you'd like changed.
Editing text directly
When you know exactly what you want, like a typo fix, you can edit text right on the page instead of using chat.
- Click the pencil button in the floating panel at the bottom of your preview to turn on text editing.
- Click any text on your site and type your changes.
- Save or discard. When you're done, you can save your changes or discard them.
Direct editing is for text only. To change images, layout, or anything else, you can ask the AI in chat.
Undoing and publishing changes
To undo something, you can ask the AI. You can undo your last change or describe an earlier version you'd like to go back to. The AI works out how to get there.

Keep in mind that your data, like form submissions and orders, is always live. If a change you want to undo involved your data, you can ask the AI what was affected and how it will handle it.
Publishing your changes
Your edits show up in your preview right away, but they don't reach your live site until you publish. Everyone in your workspace can see unpublished changes. When you're ready, you can click Publish in the top right or ask the AI to publish, and your live site updates.
