How do data and dashboards work?

Last updated September 28, 2026

Everything your sites collect, like orders and form submissions, is stored as data in your workspace. You can view and manage it by asking the AI. For things you check often, the AI can build you a custom dashboard.

Where your data lives

Data storage is built into Repaint, so there's no separate database to set up. Your data belongs to your workspace, not to a single website. That means the AI can work across all of it, like combining store orders and bookings in one report.

Data is always live. When someone places an order, it's saved right away. There's no separate draft copy of your data. Because changes to data are real, the AI manages them carefully.

Storage limits

There are no limits on data storage right now. As data volumes grow, we'll likely add storage limits to plans for heavy use.

Managing your data

The quickest way to work with your data is to chat with the AI. You can ask questions, like how many orders came in last month. You can also make changes, like issuing a refund.

Exporting your data

You can export your data anytime by asking the AI, like for a CSV of your customers. That's useful for your accountant or for moving data into other software.

“Export all customers with their email, sign-up date, and total spent as a CSV.”

Custom dashboards

A dashboard is a private page the AI builds around your data, like an orders list or a sales chart. You describe what you want to see and do, and the AI builds it. Dashboards can do more than display data. They can include buttons and forms, like one for marking an order as shipped.

Dashboards are visible to everyone in your workspace. Your customers never see them. There are no per-member permissions on dashboards, so anyone you invite can see all of them. That's why it's best to only invite people you trust.

Example prompts

“Build a dashboard of all store orders with their status, and a button to mark an order as shipped.”

“Make a dashboard that shows this week's appointments by staff member, with a way to cancel or reschedule.”

“Build a dashboard with monthly revenue for the last 12 months and my top-selling products.”

“How many people submitted the contact form last month, and which page did most of them come from?”
