How to accept payments

Last updated September 29, 2026

You accept payments on Repaint by telling the AI what you’re selling and how you want to charge for it. Payments are built into Repaint, so the AI adds a checkout to your site and walks you through connecting your business and bank account. There’s no separate payment provider to sign up for.

What you need

  • A custom domain. You'll need to connect one to your site.
  • Business verification. You’ll confirm your identity and some details about your business. Sole proprietors can accept payments too.
  • A bank account. This is where your payouts go.
  • A supported country. Your business needs to be based in one of the supported countries.

Payments work during your free trial. Once your business is verified, you can start taking real payments right away.

How to set up payments

  1. Tell the AI what you’re selling and how you want to charge, like a one-time price, a monthly subscription, or a deposit.
  2. Review what it builds. The AI adds the checkout and anything around it, like product pages or a booking flow.
  3. Verify your business. The AI walks you through adding your business details and bank account.
  4. Publish. Once you’re verified and your site is published on your domain, customers can pay you.

Example prompts

“Add a Buy button to my candle page. Each candle is $28 and customers should be able to pick a scent.”

“Set up a $12 per month subscription for my newsletter, with a signup page and a way for subscribers to cancel.”

“Create a page where clients can pay a custom amount for a project, with a field for their invoice number.”

What kinds of payments you can take

  • One-time purchases, like products, tickets, digital downloads, or services.
  • Subscriptions, like memberships, monthly boxes, or retainers that renew automatically.
  • Custom billing, like deposits, custom amounts, or pricing that depends on what the customer picks.

Checkout is part of your site and designed to match it, so customers don’t get sent to a generic payment page somewhere else.

Payment methods

  • Cards and digital wallets: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link
  • Buy now, pay later: Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay
  • Other wallets: Cash App Pay, Amazon Pay, Revolut Pay, TWINT, and BLIK
  • Bank payments: ACH Direct Debit

Which methods are available depends on your country and your customer’s country.

Fees and payment settings

Card processing is 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction in the US. Rates vary by country and payment method, and there’s no fee for failed payments.

Your business name on bank statements

The name customers see on their bank or card statements comes from the business details you enter during setup. If you want it to read differently, you can ask the AI to change it.

Failed payments and retries

Sometimes a customer’s payment fails, most often when a card on a subscription expires. You can tell the AI how to handle these. For example, it can retry the charge or email the customer a link to update their payment details.

“If a subscriber’s payment fails, email them a link to update their card and retry the charge after three days.”
