How to buy a custom domain for your Repaint site

A custom domain is your own web address, like yoursite.com, instead of the free address Repaint gives your site. Repaint doesn't sell domains, so you buy one from a domain provider and then connect it to your site.
Where to buy a domain
You can buy a domain from any domain registrar, like Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Cloudflare. You buy and renew it directly with them, usually for a yearly fee. The domain is yours wherever you register it, and it's completely separate from Repaint and your Repaint plan.
If you're choosing a new name, shorter and simpler is usually better, and a .com is the most familiar to visitors.
Connecting it to your site
Once you own a domain, you connect it to your Repaint site by adding a couple of DNS records at your domain provider. Repaint gives you the exact records to add, and it can walk you through where to put them.
