What happens to my site if I cancel?

Last updated June 3, 2026

Your site is not deleted when you cancel. You keep your sites and everything in them, and they stay online. The only thing that changes is that your Premium benefits switch off, and they turn right back on if you upgrade again.

What stays the same

Nothing is ever deleted. All of your sites, content, and edits stay exactly as they were. Your published sites stay live the whole time, with no downtime, on their free sites.repaint.com address.

Even your custom domain settings are kept. They just stop working while you're on the free plan, rather than being removed, so there's nothing to set up again later.

What changes when Premium ends

Canceling takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep your Premium benefits until then. After that, your workspace returns to the free plan, and the Premium benefits switch off across every site in it:

  • Custom domains stop working. Your sites fall back to their free sites.repaint.com address. If a custom domain was redirecting to your site, that stops too.
  • The Repaint badge returns. Your published sites show the "Made with Repaint" badge again.
  • Your usage drops to the free allowance. You get the smaller weekly editing allowance and can no longer buy usage credits.

Upgrading again turns everything back on

If you upgrade again later, your Premium benefits come back automatically and your sites pick up right where they left off. Your custom domains reconnect on their own, with no need to set up the records again. For a refresher on the plans, see how to choose a plan.
