How to add images and media

Last updated June 3, 2026

You add images and media by uploading a file in the chat and telling Repaint where to put it. Repaint supports most popular media file types.

How to add media

Adding a file works like any other edit. Upload it in the chat and tell Repaint what to do with it:

  1. Open the chat on your site.
  2. Add your file. Click the plus in the chat input to upload your file.
  3. Tell Repaint what to do with it, like where on the page it should go.
  4. Wait for the update. Repaint adds your file, then the preview refreshes.
  5. Review the result, and ask for changes if anything's off.

Example prompts

Add an image

Add the headshot I uploaded to the team section.

Add a GIF

Put this GIF at the top of the homepage, above the headline.

Add a Lottie animation

Use this Lottie file as the animated icon in the features section.

Embed a YouTube video

Embed this YouTube video on our About page: youtube.com/watch?v=abc123

Adding videos

You can upload smaller video files directly through the chat. For large video files, there's an upload size limit, so you'll need to host them somewhere else, like YouTube, and embed them instead.

Embedding is easy: paste a YouTube link into the chat and tell Repaint where you want the video, and it embeds it for you. This keeps your site fast, since the video is served from the host rather than uploaded to your site.
